Meet our Pastor,..

Pastor Richard E. Gehret

Pastor Gehret came to our church in the fall of 2011 as an intern, and was officially installed as our pastor on September 23, 2012.

He has a Master of Divinity from Palmer Theological Seminary. Pastor Gehret is new

to the pulpit but not to church work. For the past thirty-five years, he has been an active member of

Vincentown Baptist Church, serving as choir member and Trustee. Over the years, he has formed many friendships and acquaintances

through his professional, religious, and personal interests, not the least of which is vocal music. Pastor Gehret would like to

personally invite members of the community to come to our worship service on Sundays, and stay for social hour so he can get to know you.

Rev. Dr. Robert L. Muse- Pastor Emeritus

Rev. Dr. Robert L. Muse began his ministry at First Baptist Church as an interim pastor on September 20, 2009.

He blessed FBC with his ministry for three years, and was instrumental in bringing Pastor Gehret to FBC.

Pastor Muse mentored Pastor Gehret throughout his internship, and assumed the role of Pastor Emeritus when

Pastor Gehret was installed as our new pastor. Although we no longer see Pastor Muse every week, he is still a vital part

of our congregation, and we are often pleasantly surprised to see him at our worship services, bible studies, or other events.

Dr. Bob Muse was born in western Pennsylvania in the little town of Sutersville, PA. He was ordained

to the Christian ministry by the Pittsburgh Baptist Association in September, 1969. He is a retired American Baptist pastor

and college professor, although he continues to do adjunct teaching at Eastern University and Palmer Seminary,

along with occasional pulpit supply and Christian Education work for Baptist Churches in New Jersey and Pennsylvania.

Pastor Muse has an Honorable Discharge from the U. S. Army (1961). He has served Baptist churches

in Trenton, Jacobstown, Cherry Hill, and Westmont, New Jersey and Canadian Baptist Churches in Willowdale (North Toronto)

and St. Catharines, Ontario. He has previous experience as a Professor of Bible at Ontario Bible College in Toronto,

and an Adjunct Instructor and Assistant Professor of Bible/Theology at Eastern University and Assistant Professor of

Organizational Management at the Campolo College of Graduate and Professional Studies of Eastern University.

Pastor Muse has done formal arts and theological studies at Eastern (Baptist) College (now Eastern University, AB degree),

Princeton Theological Seminary (BD, ThM), Palmer Theological Seminary (formerly Eastern Baptist Seminary, DMin),

and Emmanuel College, University of Toronto, Ontario, Canada (ThD studies).

Pastor Muse currently resides with his wife, Carol, in Marlton, NJ. The couple has three adult children and

six grandchildren. The biblical truth that has shaped his life and ministry is this: “Trust in the Lord with all

your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways acknowledge him, and he will direct your paths” (Prov. 3:5).
